What we are

Best Life Insurance is a referral service. We are not an insurer and we are not a financial advice provider. We do not sell insurance, we do not quote premiums and we do not give personalised advice. When you complete a form on this site your enquiry goes to Marble Life, a New Zealand adviser firm, whose Registered Financial Service Providers compare the market and give the advice.

What we can help with

  • Putting you in front of a licensed New Zealand adviser who can compare the market for you.
  • Explaining something you read on this site, or pointing you at the page that answers your question.
  • Correcting an error. If a figure or a definition here is wrong or out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
  • Removing your details from our records, or telling you what we hold about you.
  • Press, research and content queries.

What we cannot help with

  • Anything about a policy you already hold — balances, premiums, benefit wording, a claim in progress, a change of beneficiary or a cancellation. We have no access to any insurer’s systems and no ability to look it up.
  • Personalised financial advice. We are not a Financial Advice Provider and we hold no licence to advise. We cannot tell you how much cover to buy, which insurer to pick or whether to switch.
  • Quoting a premium. We do not sell insurance and we do not price it.
  • Medical, legal or tax advice. Those belong to your GP, your lawyer and your accountant.
  • Anything outside New Zealand. We are a New Zealand service and we can only help New Zealand residents.

If your question is about cover you already hold, the fastest route is the insurer named on your policy schedule, or the adviser who arranged it. They hold the file. We do not.

If you have a complaint about an adviser

Raise it with the adviser firm first, in writing, and ask them to confirm receipt. Every licensed firm in New Zealand must have an internal complaints process and must tell you what it is.

If the firm’s answer does not resolve it, you can escalate to the independent dispute resolution scheme the firm belongs to — IFSO, FSCL, FDRS or the Banking Ombudsman, depending on the firm. Every licensed insurer and adviser must belong to one, the scheme is independent of the firm, and it costs you nothing to use. The firm must tell you which scheme it belongs to, and it is also listed on the Financial Service Providers Register, which anyone can search at no cost.

If the complaint is about something we have published, email us and we will look at it. If it is about how we have handled your personal information, our privacy policy sets out how to raise it and how to take it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Response times

Enquiries sent through the form are passed on promptly and an adviser will usually be in touch within a business day or so. Emails to us are answered in the order they arrive during New Zealand business hours; something that needs research will take longer than something that does not. We do not promise a fixed turnaround, because a made-up number would be worth less to you than an honest one. If a matter is urgent — a claim, a policy about to lapse — contact your insurer or adviser directly rather than waiting on us.

We do not sell your details. Your enquiry goes to one adviser firm for the purpose of giving you advice. Nothing on this page or anywhere on this site is personalised financial advice. Read how we get paid before you decide how much weight to give anything we write.

Registered NZ advisers

Compare cover with an adviser

One short form. An adviser compares New Zealand’s major insurers and comes back with what actually fits — including whether you need less cover than you think.

No obligation, and no cost to you. Your details go to a licensed New Zealand adviser, not to a call centre and not to a list of insurers. We never sell your data.
